Grand Canyon and Sedona trip September 2017

In late September 2017, we had 24 scholars and their families on a trip to Grand Canyon and Sedona. They are from University of Arizona or Arizona State University. We had two fully loaded vans.

We started in the morning of Saturday and arrived the camping ground near the east entrance of Grand Canyon National Park before dark. We set up five tents and big camp fire. Dinner, smortz, talking and singing brought us laughter and closeness. Some had a blast doing star photography. Pastor Ron Hart talked about his life experience, his belief and a need to search for the meaning and truth of life.

We toured the Grand Canyon National Park on Sunday morning started by seeing the sunrise at the Grandview Point. Cindy prepared hot breakfast so that all can enjoy after a short hike down into the canyon at the Grandview. We also went to the Visitor Center, the Rim trail, and got Junior Ranger badges for each family. In the early afternoon, we drove to the Slide Rock State Park and had a good afternoon playing water and admire the fall color at the orchard.
