Grand Canyon, Sedona and Flagstaff trip November 2017

We had another trip to Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Flagstaff for scholars of both Univ Arizona and Arizona State University on Nov. 4-5, 2017.

We left Tucson on Saturday morning, andpicked up 8 scholars in Phoenix. We hiked Bell Rock in Sedona, and saw the fall foliage on the winding Rt. 89A to Flagstaff. Because of the cold weather, this time we did not camp outside, instead, we stayed in First Southern Baptist Church Flagstaff for the Saturday night. We arrived at the church at dusk, saw the loving family of the pastor of FSBCF, and had a hot dinner. Right after diner, pastor Ron Hart talked about his life, how God has guided and blessed him. Lots of questions from the scholars are asked. Afterwards, we had a walking tour of the downtown Flagstaff, enjoyed the northern atmosphere there.

We woke up on Sunday morning at 4:30 am, left Flagstaff around 5 and arrived the Grand Canyon visitor center before sunrise at 6:30. We had a hot breakfast after we enjoyed seeing sunrise and a little hike along the canyon rim. More vista points are explored in the Sunday morning. We drove to Sedona in the afternoon and played at the Slide Rock State Park. We headed back to Tucson around 6 pm after we spent little time at the art centers of Sedona.
